Meet Paul Sarnese
Paul Sarnese is the Founder and Principal of Secured & Prepared Consulting, LLC. He is a Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator, a Certified Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) Specialist, and the Past President of the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS).
In recognition of his leadership and contributions to the field, Paul was named a Top 40 Global Thought Leader by the Life Safety Alliance in 2025. In 2024, he was honored as a Security Industry Innovator for his pioneering approach to healthcare workplace violence program assessments. His achievements also include being named the 2022 Campus Safety Healthcare Security Director of the Year and a Finalist in the ASIS Outstanding Security Performance Awards.
Paul has held senior leadership roles overseeing safety, security, emergency management, and operations across large and complex health systems. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Rowan University, a Master’s degree in Safety Engineering from Warren University, and a Master’s in Administrative Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
In 2020, Paul received the Russell L. Colling Literary Award for his significant contributions to healthcare security, safety, and risk management. A prolific writer and speaker, he has authored over forty published articles and has delivered keynote addresses both nationally and internationally. He is a frequent contributor to national and international media outlets, offering expert insights on workplace violence, healthcare safety, and security.
Paul has conducted comprehensive safety and security assessments for healthcare facilities, K–12 schools, colleges, universities, and commercial properties. He also delivers safety training programs for clients, institutions prepare for and responds to potential threats through emergency preparedness drills, threat assessments, and violence prevention protocols.
